This Denver art studio located in Berkeley Park is minimalist in design and takes advantage of Denver’s sunshine by seamlessly blending the inside with the outside. Two art studios are being designed for the family of four whose matriarch works in the high fashion industry and owns a local shoe boutique. The goal is to create additional living space for the family and an inspiring light-filled environment for the homeowner to create art. Utilizing a neutral palette of charcoal board and batten siding and black, the main studio complements the residence of painted light gray masonry and wood siding. Large expanses of operable glass in the main studio visually connect to the main residence providing the homeowners with easy sightlines to their children playing. The new courtyard created between living spaces now offers the family more ability to connect with their friends and family outside with the addition of a fire pit and lounge area, created with structured concrete pads and grass joints.
